Last Weekend of March '11

It has been a very busy week. Still on the hunt for that elusive lantana. OSH have it on the ad but they do not have it in the nursery. Called many times but no shipment. I am bummed. Was skeptical on going out Friday but wanted to get out. I was out and about when my cell rang and it is my sister. Mom had a procedure done and they found something that might need surgery. They did not let her go home and admitted her immediately. Time is about 11:35 rushed home and left for Stockton. Got to the Hospital (St Joseph) before 14:00. I do not understand why it takes about 6 hours to prep her for surgery. Blood work lost? There are a whole bunch of Nurses and staff walking and waiting? Finally rolled her in about16:45 to the OR. Richard and Morgan arrived as well as my other sister and husband. They rolled her back to her room about 20:00. We all left. I stopped by and checked with Dad and left for home.

Saturday hubby and I waited for Hannah's call but did not get one. Finally suggested for Hubby to call. Well, she is coming next weekend.

First Day of Spring....maybe not: Blizard

Hubby have to work Friday so we have to leave for the cabin on that day. He did get off early so we left about mid day. It was gray and about to start raining. We stopped at Sears to pick his new toy, a new riding mover which will be a multi-function with attachment. He already got the little cart to haul firewood and other things, a mover, and he need to get an attachment as snow plow. No more shovelling the driveway. While they were loading the tractor to the truck at Sears it started to rain real hard. It rained all the way to Placerville.
We did not eat lunch so we stopped at a BBQ place in downtown Placerville. I believe it is called "Hog Wild BBQ". Hubby thought we have to try it. Hubby ordered the pulled pork sandwich but I was not up for it. I ordered the chicken wings and french fries instead. I was not impressed and it was too expensive as far as I am concerned $27.78 plus tip? I guessed we are not going back.

As soon as we got to Snows Road it started to snow. As we get higher there's more snow the ground was already covered. Hubby wanted to unload the tractor from the truck so we have to do it in the snow. It snowed all night long. When we woke up in the morning, everything is white. have at least a foot.

Hubby shovelled the driveway ( he does not have the attachment to the tractor yet) then the deck. I felt bad so I went and helped him.
Sunday afternoon we decided to leave early for Sac. We left at about 16:00 and we have to take the land Cruiser, a 4WD, and with snow tires.

Burn Burn Burn

Saturday morning hubby started burning the piles of branches all over the property. He started at the side of the house then down to the sloped backyard. After noon time I put on my hat and boots and raked the leaves to a spot when it could be burned. Gathered twigs first for it to start. The leaves are a little damp from the melted snow although it is dry underneath. It was a sunny day and it is quite physical going up and down the sloped yard. With the heat from the burning pile and the sun, it was so hot. I removed my sweatshirt and believe it on not I have only a tank top on. Hubby but he uprooted manzanitas by the swimming pool and added the branches to the burning pile. We did this for the rest of the day till sundown. 19:00 it started to rain. I guess it is good timing. All of the piles are burned.

Sunday was uneventful. It was raining all day.
