DIY house painting, continues
Can you see the difference between the two sides? This is a picture of the bare(RH side) and the painted(LH side) of the eaves of the house. The RH side have been power washed but you still can see the very thin paint on. It was white washed. The eaves have never been protected before and this is why hubby decided to hand brush paint instead of spray paint. It is two layers of primer and another two layers of top coat. It have been a very tedious work but, we like the result.
This side of the garage was started on July 7 in the afternoon through the 11th and continued on the weekend of the 15th. Hannah visited and she helped me do the primer on Saturday the 9th and Monte painted the beams. There is bare soil underneath and we have to lay boards over it to be able to move and level the scaffolding. At the apex of the roof two stories scaffolding is needed and I was scared to death. Every time I move the scaffolding shakes. My knees was shaking as well. On the last day while finishing the last coat I did not notice the sprinkler tube, about 15inches above ground between the boards, sashayed and hit it with my left foot. I lost my balance and fell to the ground but, I did not spill the paint bucket I have on hand. I lost my breath for a while, have scrapes on both of my arms, and bruise right after. That night I was in pain. I felt like a train run me over...hello ICE.
This side of the garage was started on the 16th. That day I quit for a while the sun hits this side in the morning and it is too hot. I do not like the sun. It is not good for the skin. I was able able to apply only one coat of the brown before I left Sunday. I needed to leave early to get ready for work Monday, yes I am working again.
This is a view at the formal dining room. A view that takes away all the aches and pain of DIY house improvement. We do not have a formal dining table yet and we have a sofa. This is my favorite spot to rest and thinking of not putting a formal dining table and leave it as it is.

Second weekend of July
Pleasant Valley Road, Placerville, California
Left Carmichael on early Saturday morning (July 9) to Apple Hill instead of Thursday. Hannah is coming to visit and Monte needs to pick her up at the train station downtown. It was a very warm morning and the sun is right on my face. The drive was nice though. Cruising through Pleasant Valley road I have the time to think about my life. I have driven through this road every weekend for the last eight months and I am getting to remember every sign, houses, curves, and speed limits. Sometimes I hate people who drives behind me that gets too close. I like driving fast but not in windy and one lane road. I am seeing myself going through this road for the next years, retirement, and old age. Would I be able to drive through it when I am very old.
The house was warm and stuffy. Have to open all the windows and turn the fan, unload the food from the ice chest to the freezer. before starting to paint. I stopped at Food 4Less at Cameron Park. I have to go get some Popsicles. They carry these Mexican Helados and they are so good. I like the coconut and the strawberry and also get our supply for the weekend.
I am going to paint the side of the car garage this time. I started at the lower eves because I cannot assemble the scaffolding alone by myself. Monte and Hannah arrived right after lunch and she helped me paint.
